If a CloakID number is calling or texting you and you want it to stop, here's how to make that happen. We review every report.
Two things you can do immediately. Use either one or both — they work independently.
If the number has been texting you, reply with the single word STOP. Your carrier will permanently block all further texts from that number to you. This is automatic and immediate. It applies even if the sender keeps trying.
Reply STOP only when you actually want all messages from that number to stop. The block lifts only if you later text START.
For calls, voicemails, or any contact a STOP reply can't cover, email us. We'll review the records on our side and take action if our Acceptable Use Policy was violated.
STOP works at the carrier level. When you reply STOP, your phone carrier installs a permanent block on the sender. CloakID can't bypass that block, and neither can the sender. The block applies until you text START to lift it.
The more detail you can give us, the faster we can act. If something on this list isn't easy to provide, send what you have — we'll work with it.
Every abuse report is reviewed by a person, not an automated system.
We confirm we received your report and begin reviewing the records on our side — call logs, message history, account details for the user behind the number.
We suspend the account, release the phone number back to the telephony network, block future contact from that user to your number, and prevent re-registration with the same phone number.
If you intend to file a police report or seek a protective order, the records we hold are preserved and can be produced in response to a subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process.
We let you know what action was taken. We don't share information about the other user beyond confirming an investigation occurred and what enforcement steps were taken.
If you feel unsafe, threatened, or are being stalked, contact law enforcement before you contact us. Local police can take action faster than we can in an emergency, and they have authority we don't.
After you've contacted them, email abuse@cloakid.app so we can take parallel action on the platform side and preserve records for any investigation.
Subpoenas, court orders, preservation letters, and other legal process should be sent to legal@cloakid.app. We respond to valid legal process and cooperate with investigations into harassment, stalking, threats, and other unlawful use of our service.
We follow standard legal-process procedures and may notify the affected user unless legally prohibited from doing so.
